Sacrifice is a feature-length documentary film that tells the dramatic story of the life and death of three GIs who were killed during the Normandy Campaign of World War II: LTC John Hubert Mathews, 2LT Walter Francis Perra, and PFC Harold Eugene Sellers. We may say that for every human being, there are ultimately two deaths. The first is when we physically die. The second is when we are no longer remembered. Sacrifice documents the struggle of these individuals’ loved ones to keep their fading memories alive. This film also explores the ripple effect created when certain individuals are called upon to make a sacrifice, one that not only touches their immediate family and friends, but also those of us who never knew them. The film will be aired on BBC in England, and TF1 in France. It will also be presented on PBS in the United States.
