This one-hour film documents the history of Germany during the Cold War from 1945 to 1995.  A major element of the story is the post-World War II relationship between the Germans and the occupying American armed forces.  It covers the spectrum of experiences from the final days of World war II to the American post-War occupation. It also explores influences on the German popular culture, the development of a democracy in Germany, and the tensions of the Cold War through the fall of the Iron Curtain.
